My mother gave me my grandma's email address (which I find highly surprising because both of them have absolutely no clue when it comes to technology.)
This is along the lines of how our conversation went:
D: Hi, Grandmother! This is your granddaughter! I haven't talked to you since... wow, when I was fifteen! Anyways, I'm researching some urban legends and I remember you once telling me the story of the Tall Man. Could you refresh my memory?
Adriana (my g-ma): Hello, Dana. It's such a pleasure to hear from you! I think the legend you may be referring to is the Shadow Man. He lives in the forest by my house, but I made it up to frighten your mother and eventually you to stay inside and not wander off in the forest at night.
D: Could you explain his appearance and details to me?
A: Sure. He was inexplicably tall: about ten to fifteen feet tall. He wore a business suit and had no face. He would just hang around the forest and captured whoever wandered too far.
D: Is there any basis of the Shadow Man in reality?
A: Well, I borrowed some bits and pieces from stores my grandparents would tell me in Germany and add onto it with my own details... why?
D: What story did your grandparents tell you?
A: Der Großmann... Dana, what's going on?
D: I have to go. I'll talk to you later.
Now, I know doing that to your own grandmother is pretty bitchy. But I haven't told anyone about it so they won't blow it up to the media. In fact, this blog and the police are the only ones to know...
Now to find out about this Der Großmann.
I find it amusing how humans take nothing seriously. Throwing away your own life without even doing it on purpose. There's nothing you can do for him you know. Even if you do find him chances are he will be gone again before you even realise it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, AnonymousTruths. I've never thought of it that way before, but I will continue my search for him. If it were someone you knew, wouldn't you want to save that person too?
